The DOQs (Digital Orthophoto Quadrangles) on this site are Color Infrared aerial photo mosaics
having a pixel size depicting about 1 square meter on the ground. Each file corresponds to a
standard USGS 7.5' Quadrangle. Quadrangles falling partially outside West Virginia are not complete.
The images are georeferenced to UTM zone 17, NAD83 datum, and have been
compressed using MrSID compression technology.
MrSID stands for Multi-Resolution Seamless Image Database, a technology developed
to produce highly compressed images with very little loss in image quality. These
images were compressed using the default 20:1 target compression ratio, which typically
produces an image approximately 25M in size.
