Map services are published through ArcGIS server. Most services support WMS as well as Esri clients and APIs. Two of the folders (UTM and WebMercator) serve a dual role supporting both WVDEP web applications and public clients. Services are organized as a set of folders, including:
app_services-- Services published for use with a variety of DEP web applications.
TNC-- Services associated with web applications being developed by The Nature Conservancy in conjunction with the DEP.
UTM-- Services published using the UTM 17, NAD83(86) coordinate system. These services are intended as public services for use by a variety of clients.
webMercator-- Services published using the de facto web coordinate system. These services also are intended as public services for use by a variety of clients, in addition to supporting a variety of locally developed applications.
Services for WVDEP core Data
Mining Layers (webMercator projection) Displays core mining-related features, including spoil and refuse fills and mining permit boundaries. This service includes underground mining features compiled through the mineral lands mapping project. Create your own map from this data using ArcGIS Online's cloud based map service.
