Unmanned Aerial Vehicles

WVDEP has been using drones for mapping since 2016, using aerial photography and elevation data products to calculate fill volume, support reclamation design, monitor wetlands, map superfund sites, supply as-built products for stream restoration projects, and more. DEP drone operators fly DJI P4, P4RTK, Inspire 2, Matrice 600 Pro, and Mavic 3E platforms with optical, multispectral, and thermal payloads.
